The Loving Gift of Patience, Emotional Control of Self & The Release of The Ego
All things shift with time. Every emotion, every thought, every version of us.. it all changes with experience and perspective.
Time itself gives a quiet but powerful blessing: patience. When you slow down, even for a moment.. the whole nervous system softens. The mind clears. Things that felt tangled start to make sense.
Sitting with a feeling instead of reacting to it right away, that’s where the truth lives.
You begin to see what’s yours, what’s the ego, and what’s just fear talking. It opens space for compassion. First for yourself, then naturally for the people around you.
The wise are not wise because they know everything.
They are wise because they pause.
They breathe.
They listen inwardly before moving outwardly.
The fool rushes to speak, rushes to judge, rushes to defend.
That’s the ego, the master manipulator.
It pushes you to prove, to perfect, to perform… instead of just being.
The ego clouds our vision. It makes us forget that every human is fragile in their own way, including ourselves. We all have shadows. We all have edges that need softening. And we all have parts of ourselves we’re learning to release.
Life moves in cycles. We eb and flow, just like the tides. In a moment we will be on the mountaintop and in valley the next. Nothing stays in one state forever. That’s why patience is such a sacred tool. It keeps you grounded whether you’re rising or rebuilding.
Do not be misled. Emotional safety is your priority You can love people deeply, but you cannot hand them the keys to your inner peace.
One must never entrust another man with their emotional safety. The very act of this in itself is unstable. True emotional safety begins with self. No one can guard your inner world. The cultivation of emotional safety begins with the control of the mind. Oftentimes, negative assumptions, unchecked thoughts, and impulsive reactions distort reality and drain energy. This tarnishes and taints our view of reality and even our very energy.
Your thoughts, your interpretations… they shape your emotional world more than anything external.
Energy= Emotions
Our very minds can invoke and or amplify emotions, shaping the trajectory of our day, our choices, and even the outcomes in our lives. Meditation, which simply offers awareness, is a direct path to emotional self-mastery. It allows you to sit with your emotions, meet your shadow, and gently release what no longer serves you. Energy flows where emotion goes. And emotion flows where the mind wanders, which is your focus.
Through this profound practice, boundaries form naturally. Awareness grows. Releasing intentionally while empathy deepens. The habits we develop internally extend outward, transforming how we relate to the world. Slowing down and being present in one's body, feeling the emotions that rise and coming face to face with buried thoughts.
Not the aesthetic, not the performance… just the act of being present in your body, witnessing your emotions instead of running from them. Feeling what rises. Greeting the shadow gently. Letting the ego go slowly.
When you do this, clarity comes naturally.
Compassion comes naturally.
Emotional security becomes stronger.
And the more you cultivate this within yourself, the easier it becomes to extend it outward toward people, situations, and even the parts of life that once frustrated you.
So, beloved; when was the last time you sat with yourself?
Not to judge.
Not to fix.
Just to be.
I invite you to go deeper and ask these questions:
Where am I holding on too tightly? What am I afraid to feel? Which part of my ego is still trying to protect me? Which part of my shadow needs my attention instead of my shame?
Where am I holding onto pride? Where am I quick to judge? What fears or insecurities am I projecting onto others? Which parts of my shadow am I ready to meet and heal?
All answers lie within. The power to transform your reality rests within.
The loving gifts of patience, emotional control, and ego release are not destinations, they are ongoing practices. They are daily acts of love for yourself and the world around you.
Sitting with ourselves, honouring our emotions, and tending to our shadow creates a solid foundation for a life rooted in clarity, compassion, and authentic connection.
The journey inward is the greatest journey you will ever trod.
Give thanks for your presence.
Give thanks for the breath that carries you.
All praises to the Most High.
Blessed love,
A🧿🪶
